for everyone |
Walking along the streets you once
passed
and where your roots remain
From time to time I bump into
shadows
that flicker
that trigger
a hundred memories:
Shared laughter
of silly things
you and I understand;
Shared thoughts
on crazy things
you and I believe in;
Never-ending conversations
we could not get enough of;
repartee unparalleled
before or since.
Walking along the streets I now
pass alone
and where I do not have roots
i looked up at the clouds in the
heavens
not to wonder why
there is no wind;
neither to ponder why
there are ghosts at noontime.
But to stare at the sun
hoping it would dry up
and mercifully hold back
the tears that came unbidden.
